Student Leadership Overnight Retreat 2014
The LAC-O Student Leadership Residential Retreat was an outgrowth of the LAC-O Student Leadership Conference as the next step in providing first generation and under-represented students the access and opportunity of an on campus college experience.  

Student Leadership Conference 2014

 The LAC-O Student Leadership Conference brings together teams of students and educators from each of the Oakland County’s high school programs.  Having just completed its 5th year, this conference has supported over 1750 students in 60+ Oakland County high school programs with an on-campus experience at Oakland University.  



  • Completed the 6th annual relationship surveys with students and teachers.
  • Hosted the fifth annual student leadership conference at Oakland University, attended by students from most high schools in the county.
  • Hosted the first annual leadership overnight retreat for students.  
  • Continued work with eleven African American Parent Networks.
  • Broadened focus of the Social Justice program for teachers and piloted it new districts.
  • Increased focus on getting "student voices" in the work of LAC-O.
  • Began collecting artifacts of student engagement (videos, pictures, writings, etc)
