The purpose of the Common Core Initiative, Mathematics is to make information and resources available that assist educators with the implementation of the Common Core Standards in Mathematics.

Achievements 

2010-2011

  • Completed the third annual Algebra I survey.

  • Began collecting classroom artifacts, particularly videotape, in mathematics instruction for posting in Atlas in several professional development programs.

  • Developed units of study for every grade level in mathematics based on the Common Core Standard that will be utilized in a micro teaching professional development program beginning in August.

2009-2010 

  • Completed countywide K-12 mathematics curriculum.

  • Completed the second annual Algebra I survey.

  • Introduced the Developing Effective Learning and Teaching (DELTA) program for professional development in the county.

  • Passing rates for ninth grade algebra increased by 5% between 2008 and 2009.
